The Lauf True Grit gravel racer (Lauf is out of Iceland) is a versatile gravel and endurance race horse, with nerves of carbon. Blast through gravel, sweep the singletracks, float on asphalt or open a beer. Fitted with the Lauf Grit SL gravel suspension fork and beefy gravel tires – just ride! This bike is receiving rave reviews touting the PERFECT application of the Lauf Grit SL no-maintenance fork technology. The 1100 g carbon frameset is long and low out front, nice ‘n racy — and perfect for stable, fast, rides on gravel roads — or roads of any sort. We have two SRAM-equipped versions (or a frameset) — starting from $3695.

The Lauf Grit SL fork retails for $790 and comes with a 5-year warranty, and it is maintenance and adjustment free. The fork gobbles up and smooths-out the high-frequency, small and sharp bumps created by our fresh Indiana farm gravel. You keep pedaling smoothly and putting down the power! Not convinced on the fork? Check out this review of the Grit SL.

Ride longer and faster while staying connected with the Edge 1030 GPS Cycling Computer. In addition to a bigger screen and an unheard of battery life of 20 hrs (or over 40 with extra Garmin Power Pack add-on), the Garmin 1030 features new fast and reliable routing capabilities, more on-board maps and navigation, and better connectivity for rider-to-rider messaging and use of Strava and other social platforms. The 1030 starts at just $599.

Garmin has also just announced the new Vector 3 and 3S pedal-based power meter. Compared to the Vector 2, the new model is slimmer, easier to install (no pods), more accurate (1% vs 2% variance), and still comes with either the “single” or double-pedaled version with options to later upgrade. The Vector integrates simply and seamlessly with the entire range of Garmin cycling computers (Edge 520 on up). The Vector 3S is priced at $599.

THE NEW CANNONDALE SUPER X — For All Roads and Tracks Everywhere

This is one beautiful bike from Cannondale — the 2018 Carbon Super X — capable of international podium finishes on the UCI Cyclocross race circuit or killing it (comfortably) on a Midwest century gravel road ride. Cannondale has taken a new “out-front” geometry for stability and comfort, combined with shortest-in-class chain stays, and created  a beautifully crafted sub-1000g. carbon frame. This bike is designed to take up to 42 mm wide tires (which comes in handy on Indiana plush gravel roads). The SRAM Force equipped  SE or Special Edition version with a single chain-ring is our favorite — simple and with clean, mud-shedding frame contours — and special WTB wheels and tires perfect for Hoosier gravel. Heck, this bike can be your one bike for all — road (with skinny 28 mm tires), cyclocross, and gravel!

An evolutionary leap forward for gravel road racers, and one of the most in-demand bikes in the country, the Salsa Carbon Warbird is all about speed and comfort on plush gravel, on hardpack, on chip-and-seal, on asphalt, and even on non-technical trail. The Warbird presents a rugged carbon-framed, somewhat road-relaxed geometry, Class 5™ Vibration Respired geometry, internal cable-routing, wide SRAM Rival gearing, and rigid thru-axles make this the favorite bike for participants in the Dirty Kanza 200/100 race.

After months of scarcity, we now have at Nebo Ridge a full size run of these black beauties.

The Warbird is the one that was born to run. The Warbird brings speed to the mixed surface, ultra-endurance gravel road riding scene. Every feature has been evaluated and designed to obliterate long-distance cycling route and event records over most any route.
